Alfa Centauri

The pedigree varieties of Pandora and Marmalade. It results in a similar or slightly later than the Pandora and does not require a pollinator. Late cultivar (similar then Pandora).

The plant is a medium to low growth, medium dense, flattened form, produce a large number of runners. The leaves are dark green, with a faint sheen. Inflorescences grow at the leaf level. Due to the late blooming, flowers are rarely damaged by frost.

It is highly susceptible to diseases, root and leaf diseases, but quite susceptible to gray mold. Therefore, it requires careful protection. The variety is susceptible to mites strawberry, so it is extremely important that the planting material came from a qualified, recognized schools.

Alfa centauri is very fertile. The patches of cultivation (0,5 m x 1,5 m) obtained yields of fruit, often amouting to 30 t/ha. The condition is so high yields of fruit, often amouting to 30 t/ha. The condition is so high yield plant health and a full supply of water and nutrients.

Fruits are widely-conical, large and very large, fairly compensated, Vivid red skin, with high gloss, creamy flesh, clear air space. Fruits are medium-stiff, little prone to damage during transport. The calyx is recessed, sepals outliers, the calyx of the same size as fruit, strongly adheres to the fruit.

The origin is variety: Kent, Tarda Vicoda and Polka.

Mid-earlier time of harvest.

Plants have strong growth, are medium dense, produce the average number of runners. The inflorescences are at the leaf level.

The variety is very susceptible to fungal diseases, although in some years requires protection against powdery mildew. It requires cover for winter.

It yields on average (8-10 t / ha) .
Fruits are large to medium (in the absence of water becoming smaller), elongated, conical, with red skin and light red flesh, medium firmness.

The variety is distinguished by highly wild strawberry (Fragaria vesca) taste and smell. This extremely delicate fruit flavor makes it an elite, a deli, for the discerning customer. Despite the lower yield, cultivation of this variety can effectively cost. Fruits can also be used successfully for confectionery products.

The origin is the variety; Camarosa, Pandora and Selva.

Mid-early time of harvest.

The plant growth is strong, erect and firm. The variety produces strong inflorescences on par with leaves or below the leaves. The leaves are large, green and very shiny. The number of runners is average.

It is characterized by a similar fertility and resistance to frost as Elsanta, but significantly less susceptibility to leaf diseases and root diseases.

The variety is characterized by a short period of harvest. Fruits are large to medium-sized, wide conical, bright red, with a distinct air chamber, medium gloss, medium hardness, good. The calyx is at the same diameter as the diameter of the fruit, located on the level of the fruit, sepals are swept. The fruit is susceptible to gray mold in small range, and plants are less susceptible to the disease leaves and roots. The field- patches of Alioth can produce fruit at 13-18 tons per hectare.

Amarant Niwa

Cultivar is under the study registration in COBORU from 2014 year, at the same time taking interim protection. In her pedigree are: Kent,Selwa,Ewerest and wild strawberry (Fragaria vesca).

It bears fruit in an average of  late -term  traditional ripening strawberry.

The plants are strong, very suscetible to the leaf amd root diseases. They form the average number of runners and cutting.

Inflorescence are short, under leaves.

The variety is characterized by high productivity. In comparison with standards: Elsanta and Senga Sengana Amarant Niwa give better yield (a higher proportion of marketable yield and lower infection by gray mold).

There was also an increased sensitivity of the plants to herbicides, an in the case of the Elsanta variety.

Fruit are large or very large, wide conical shape, hard, tasty. They are also characterized by a higher content of antioxydants compare to fruit of Senga Sengana cultivar. The largest fruits are generally  the air chamber. The skin is medium strong, live red, darkening after ripening, it may not be easy to mechanical damage.

The economic value of variety and its suitability for the production is not fully evaluated. With the already completed researches and production trayes may be made that cultivar can be valuable use in both: desser and as well as for the production for concetrates (high extract content 10,6 Brix). Because of difficult separation stalk from fruits cultivar is not useful for frozen fruit production.

The production technology shout take into strong growth and short inflorences, witch suggests that it should be planted in one row system.

 Akcent Niwa

Everbearer cultivar. It is in the study registration in COBORU from 2014, at the same time taking interim protection. In its pedigree are junbearer cultivars: Elsanta, Kent, Gariguette and everbearer cultivars: Selva, Everest, Evita and wildstrawberry (Fragaria vesca).

The plants have average growth and oblate type. It produces numerous branching stolons, and seedling with strong florets.

In cultivation of this variety, special attention should be paid to the protection agains Tarnished plant bug (Lygus pubescens Reut.).

Spring fruiting is slightly higher compare to Selva cultivar. The time and dynamic of fruit ripening and fruit size are higher compare to Selva (fruit size respectively 12,4 and 10,8 g). Fruits are heart-shape, dark, red colour of the skin like the pulp.

The comercial value of the cultivar is not fully proven. Fruit can be useful both for direct consumption as well as for use in processing eg. as a recent addition to the confectionery and yoghurt. Noteworthy exquisite taste and pleasent aroma of fruit.
